I just got the photos from the boudoir shoot I did with Mimi Nguyen and Toni a few weeks ago, and they are beyond amazing! Mimi has such a great eye, and she is really good at directing her subjects and making them feel at ease. Toni was so sweet and fun to work on; she confided that it was her first time getting her makeup professionally done, and that the shoot was a surprise for her fiance. She asked if I do brows too, and luckily I had my tweezers and brow trimming scissors with me to do a bit of clean up and shaping.
Also, since her hairstylist wasn’t able to make it, I did her hair using a 1.25″ ceramic curling iron for tousled sexy curls, finished with bumble & bumble Spray de Mode before and after curling, for flexible hold.
Onto the pics! (Click on pics for larger view)
Getting ready.
Isn’t she stunning?
Toni has naturally lush lashes (look how nice her bottom lashes are!) which I enhanced with MAC #36 lashes, my favorite for a natural yet glam look. (click for larger pic!)
I think this one’s my favorite. Love the soft, sweet, antiquey look.
I think Toni looks like an old Hollywood movie star here!
This one is my second favorite. Love the fiance’s shirt/tie and blue coffee mug!

For Lexy’s July wedding, the bride requested soft smoky eyes with rosy lips and cheeks for herself and the bridesmaids. On Lexy, I used Temptu S/B airbrush foundation for a flawless finish that lasted through the night.
Here are a couple of pics from my camera:

This was from Caroline and Roger’s wedding several years ago. To tie in the look with the eggplant color of the bridesmaids’ dresses without being too matchy, I went for a berry lip, cool-toned plum blush and understated eyes.

So exciting! I created my blog, registered a domain and set up a new email account today. Can’t wait to get the full website up and running. For now, this blog will have to serve as the repository for all things Clara Kim Beauty.
I’m going to be posting photos of makeup I’ve done in the past — mostly wedding-related, although going forward I’m working on scheduling photoshoots with photographer friends to build up my portfolio and experiment with different looks, such as natural, glam, smoky, colorful, etc.
Stay tuned!
